Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional East Asian medical practice that works by influencing the body’s capacity for health and harmony through subtle needling. Internal relationships between movement and rest, warmth and coolness, tension and release are identified and supported. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, acupuncture looks at how patterns develop across the whole system.
In my approach, acupuncture is guided by direct tactile feedback from the body. Assessment may include pulse qualities, tongue reading, abdominal palpation. These findings and subtle changes are also noted during the treatment itself. These observations help determine how and where the body is asking for support.
I work primarily within Japanese and classical Chinese acupuncture traditions, which emphasize subtlety, precision, and responsiveness. Needles are used gently and intentionally, often with shallow insertion and minimal stimulation, allowing the body to respond rather than be pushed.
Acupuncture is well suited for pain, digestive and sleep concerns, headaches, and fatigue. My approach is especially well suited for chronic and long-standing issues, recurring patterns, and stress-related conditions. Many people also find it helpful when they feel “stuck,” depleted, or out of rhythm with themselves.
Treatment plans are collaborative and evolve over time. For chronic conditions especially, acupuncture is most effective when approached as a process that allows gradual regulation and lasting change
