Moxibustion (moxa) is a core part of my clinical practice.

Moxibustion is a traditional therapy that uses the warmth of processed mugwort to support vitality and recovery. In centuries of clinical tradition, moxibustion has been used for pain, especially chronic back and knee pain, as well as fatigue, slow recovery, digestive weakness, menstrual regulation, and circulation. It is also used when people feel run down, prone to getting sick, or stuck in long-standing patterns that do not shift easily.

Moxibustion is applied with diagnostic intent. Specific areas of the body are warmed based on how circulation, tone, and responsiveness are presenting, not simply where symptoms appear.

In my practice, I primarily use Japanese moxibustion methods, which emphasize point-level precision, comfort, and moderation. Techniques may include stick-on moxa or indirect warming methods applied along the spine, abdomen, or limbs.

Moxibustion is especially valuable for people dealing with chronic illness, fatigue, cold sensitivity, digestive weakness, or slow recovery.

Moxibustion may be used on its own or combined with acupuncture, depending on assessment and the needs of the moment. Many patients find moxibustion deeply settling and restorative. Over time, moxibustion helps create the internal conditions that allow the body to rebuild strength rather than simply manage symptoms.
